Newquay is all about surfing, this is the epi-centre for surfing in the UK, with major international surf events through the year. Of course surfing is not the only thing to do in Newquay. BEACHES
Newquay has plenty of safe and accessible beaches where you can enjoy a traditional family holiday on the sand, but you may find that it gives you a taste for adventure. People come to Newquay with a bucket and spade, but they often leave with a surf-board. Newquay is a breeding ground for champions and host of world championships.
It is also a gigantic surf campus where people of all ages can learn in safety, with expert tuition, and build their confidence on waves that range in difficulty from easy to awesome. Sheltered from the prevailing south-westerlies by Towan Head, the beaches of Towan, Great Western and Tolcarne provide a gentle start for beginners on belly-boards, and a confidence-boost for those graduating to Malibu boards. Tuition is available and boards can be hired, either on the beaches or from specialist surf-shops in town.

BLUE REEF AQUARIUM
The Blue Reef Aquarium on Towan Promenade brings the Atlantic on-shore with a fascinating slice of life beneath the waves. Walk a tunnel through a giant tropical ocean display and enjoy over 30 living displays featuring amazing sea life.

NEWQUAY ZOO
